Reign is due first and she definitely has a tummy. I haven’t been able to feel movement yet but in my experience that usually happens closer to next week. She is eating and playing normal and hasn’t shown any sign of discomfort but that will change as her tummy grows these last couple weeks.
Maze is doing great. Her most notable sign of possible pregnancy is being way more demanding of affection and it is a constant battle between her and Millie for my attention. I’m expecting tummy growth to start increasing this week. She is playing well and has a great appetite.
Millie is having a rough go. This pregnancy is mimicking her first pregnancy to a tee. If you remember she really struggled and it was very hard on her physically and us mentally. (you can scroll back to see blog entries on about first pregnancy) While that pregnancy produced 7 healthy and beautiful babies it was a very hard time. With our vets approval we tried a second time and she had a great second pregnancy with little to no complications. After we skipped her previous heat cycle we were hopeful that this pregnancy would be easy for her as well. But it’s not, so because she is struggling this time we will be spaying Millie after the pups go home. Regardless of the outcome. This was an easy decision but hard for our hearts, Millie is an amazing mother and truly loves being a mommy, but pregnancy is too hard on her and not worth the risks. The health and well being of our dogs is always our top priority. We will update as the pregnancy progresses.
