I have never in 9 years offered breeding rights. So when I was discussing co-owning and the terms of our arrangement with Jasper’s breeder and she mentioned she would rather I not offer breeding rights, I did not hesitate to agree. He is our only active stud so this means for now until the foreseeable future we will not offer breeding rights. So in essence nothing has changed since I started 9 years ago.
I had a few folks ask about puppies from this litter and wanting breeding rights. Most were very respectful of my answer, others not so much. I don’t owe anyone an explanation but here we go.
- I prefer my pups go to forever pet homes.
- Breeders all choose to raise their pups differently and with recent events I can not trust my pups with be raised and bred in a manner in which I feel is ethical and responsible. Even with a contract.
- Many breeders retire breeding dogs and rehome them once they are no longer needed to make room for new pups. While I don’t have an opinion on this, it is not how I want my pups raised. I want forever homes for my pups.
- Too Much Drama!!! The dog world is nuts and I don’t want a part of all that.
- I don’t want to!
